My absolutely most favorite body of water in the entire world is the East Fork of the Jemez River.
I’ve hiked — make that ambled and/or scrambled — along the East Fork many more times than I can count. Its best season is summer, which means I’ve dodged afternoon rain, hail, and lightning along it any number of times as well.1
The photo above was taken just ten days after the first image. The difference between the two seems dramatic: summer to fall.
On the way back to my car, I ran into this couple carrying little dogs in their backpacks. Apparently everyone loves the East Fork.
