Every once in a very great while, the photo gods smile kindly upon me.1 August 1st was one such day, when they gave me hours upon hours of fog in the redwood forest.
More than it ever has before, the forest seemed alive in mysterious ways I could sense only at the very edge of my consciousness.
Of course all forests are vibrantly alive in myriad ways we humans can only guess at. But there was something about this visit that made me feel the redwoods were willing to show me more of themselves … and not just visually.
There was even one point when I felt the forest as a whole was playing the part of the trickster with me, gently laughing at me as it pretended to foil my best-laid plans … but that’s a story for another day.
Those days occur more often in October than any other month.
Silence emanates throughout the forest as the fog drifts through.
So mysterious & mystical those redwood forests & your pic’s capture that, yes the photo gods were with you!
