The good stuff: One of my favorite places, in both summer and fall, is the Big Tesuque campground and trail outside Santa Fe. Wildflowers and butterflies are abundant during the summer, and the trail is lined with aspens.
Both the trail and the campground follow Big Tesuque Creek. Just the sound of the water rushing down the mountain makes me feel significantly cooler in the summer.
Thimbleberries, or at least their leaves, grow along the creek. They’re among the first to turn in the fall.
It’s been an exceptionally long and warm fall and I’ve taken full advantage of it. Stay tuned for many more foliage photos (I took over 6,000 last month!).
Such an autumnal series coming our way I think :)
