May is the best month for Apache plume, when the foothills are covered with its gauzy pink glow. And yesterday was probably the last cold, rainy day until fall.
I went out at lunch with my camera and remembered how stunning Apache plume looks with water drops. It’s something I’ve seen only a handful of times previously.
I was hustling back to my car when I saw the bud above. Part of me said, “You’ve gotten enough photos, wouldn’t it be nice to be dry?” and another part said, “Look at that bud!” You can see which side won. It’s unfortunate that bad weather so often makes for good photos.
