I made it out to the San Ysidro Trials Area last week and, although the tinajas were empty, there were (as always) lots of interesting rocks.
I found a pine cone sitting in what might have been a mini-tinaja at some point — evidence that water has indeed moved through the area in the past.
I managed to get out to the Bernalillito hoodoos area a few weeks ago as well.1 The hoodoos are nice enough but it’s the small area pictured below that never fails to draw me in.
All those swirly lines in the rock! I just can’t get enough of them.

The two areas are probably only 10-15 miles apart, at least as the crow flies.
Touchable rocks, to lean against, to admire the glory of nature and thank the water than formed them thus far.
I love rocks too & didnt know there were hoodoos in Bernaillo, are they hidden?
