Mar 19: Rocks

A few recent photos

I made it out to the San Ysidro Trials Area last week and, although the tinajas were empty, there were (as always) lots of interesting rocks.

I found a pine cone sitting in what might have been a mini-tinaja at some point — evidence that water has indeed moved through the area in the past.

I managed to get out to the Bernalillito hoodoos area a few weeks ago as well.¹ The hoodoos are nice enough but it’s the small area pictured below that never fails to draw me in.

All those swirly lines in the rock! I just can’t get enough of them.

1. The two areas are probably only 10-15 miles apart, at least as the crow flies.
