I spent a few days in Bandon, Oregon (also ever-so-quaintly called Bandon-by-the-Sea). It was a beautiful sunny day when I arrived, with bad weather forecast for the next few days. I promptly set about taking as many photos as I could before the clouds moved in. I couldn’t have asked for more perfect light that afternoon.
There was a little turquoise building at the marina called Bandon Bait. That did not sound like a good name for a restaurant to me, but I was so wrong. I got no fewer than three amazing takeout meals there.
The Coquille Lighthouse is my favorite in Oregon, although I’m not sure exactly why. Maybe because it’s rusty and not-so-quaint? It’s no longer in service.
I know for sure I’m a real New Mexican because a) I was freezing the entire time I was there and b) all that water seems so … wasteful.
