The first time I ever went to the Oregon coast was about five years ago. I’d seen photos of gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific and wanted to take some myself. I bumbled into the coast redwoods when I went through Crescent City, about 20 miles south of the Oregon border, and it was love at first sight.
I didn’t do so well with all those sunset photos though, because it was foggy almost every day. I was really bummed. I had no clue how to take photos in the fog and at first, I couldn’t even understand why anyone would want to. But by the end of that trip I’d seen the light, both literally and figuratively.
I was graced with two foggy mornings in the redwoods a few weeks ago and I couldn’t stop taking photos. I took so many one morning that I spent an hour and a half hiking just 2/3 of a mile. And that was downhill, at sea level.
More photos to come.
